EX-SERVICEMEN'S DANCE
NAVAL AND MILITARY GAY SCENE AT PETER PAN Naval and military uniforms and charming evening frocks combined to present a colourful scene in the Peter Pan Cabaret last evening, when a dance was held there under the auspices of the White Ensign Club and the Mons Veterans' Association. Appropriate decorations comprised large flags of all nationalities, with the Union Jack in the centre, which were draped at the back of the lounges at the far end of the ballroom, while smaller flags were suspended from the ceiling in the cabaret entrance. Small clusters of balloons were also to be seen suspended from the ceiling in the ballroom, while tall vases of daffodils and low bowls of anemones graced the supper room tables. Two ballet numbers given in costume by Miss Mavis Davidson, Miss Mavis Thornton, Miss McCauley and Miss M. Smith added greatly to the pleasure of the occasion, and popular dance music was supplied by the Peter Pan - Players. The ball was held under the patronage of Commodore F. Burges Watson, D.5.0., and Colonel J. E. Duigan, D.5.0., A.D.C., but owing to illness Colonel Duigan was unable to be present. Tho hostesses were Mrs. W. C. Pilgrim, who wore a frock of cherry satin, and Mrs. A. B. Downing, in cameo pink embroidered souple satin. Among those present were:—Mrs. F. Bulges Watson, who wore a frock of black and white satin; Mrs. E. Lyon Berthon, in parchment lace; Mrs. M. J. C. de Meric, black Chantilly lace; Mrs. Bryce Hart, champagne laco with a turquoise velvet sash; Mrs. S. J. Nash, powder blue embossed taffeta; Mrs. M. Duffin, apple green satin; Mrs. H. B. Wilkinson, bottle green satin; Mrs. C. D. Birchfield, gum red souple satin; Mrs. L. Tustain, black georgette and lace; Mrs. J. R. Middleton, black georgette; Mrs. James Hudson, beige satin; Mrs. Russell Smith, apple green satin; Mrs. S. Hovey, duchess blue satin; Mrs. H. E. Robinson, cobalt blue lace; Mrs. F. Rees, peach floral chiffon; Mrs. W. Lynch, wine georgette; Mrs. W. Watkins, ecru lace over almond green satin; Mrs. Norman Kerr, black lace with a black figured velvet coatee; Mrs. R. A. Vibert, black lace; Mrs. E. Taylor, black | lace.; Mrs. H. Everson, lemon chiffon; Mrs. W. L. Streeton, Naples blue satin; Mrs. K. Blankley, powder blue satin; Mrs. J. Shorland, black frilled taffeta. Miss Joyce Herdman was in rose ana powder blue floral chiffon; Miss Marjorie Cerutty, apple green taffeta; Miss Doris Cleland, white organdie; Miss F.
