TEACHERS' INSTITUTE
ELECTION OF OFFICERS Totals of 1400 senior and 200 junior members were reported at last evening's annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute. The results of the year's work had proved more satisfactory than had been anticipated. The financial statement showed a small credit balance. The benevolent fund had been used to assist members, help being given sometimes in the form of a loan. The former headmaster of the Gladstone School, Mount Albert, Mr. A. J. C. Hall, who has retired, was farewelled. He had been a member of the institute for 19 years, and was one of its most valuable members, being a former Dominion president. The election of the local executive of the managing committee resulted as follows:—President, Mr. C. F. Collins (Whanfparei) ; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. W. Fawcett and G. K. Hamilton; treasurer, Mr. W. 0. Lamb; additional members of managing committee, Mrs. M. C. Chisholm, Misses E. M. Taylor and F. J. Taylor, Messrs. F. E. Blakey, C. W. Boswell, A. B Fordyce, F. A. Garry, J. H. Menzies. A. Murdoch, A. F. Scherer, S. Walker and G. W. R. Warner.
