FURTHER LOAN PROPOSED The borrowing of £4750 for paving in concrete the portion of Carlton Gore Road between Victoria Crescent and Tark Road and of Huntly Avenue, off Khyber Pass Road, was considered by the Newmarket Borough Council last evening, when a motion to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for sanction for the loan was brought forward. After the clerk, Mr. 11. Wilson, had reported that a number of objections to the proposal had been received from ratepayers, the Mayor, Mr. S. Donaldson, suggested that consideration should bo deferred until the next meeting. This courso was followed. Tho borough foreman, Mr. A. McLaren, reported that tho concreting of tho approaches to Iho railway overbridge in Victoria Crescent had been completed, and the barricades would be removed and the bridge opened for traffic within a few days. The footpaths had been surfaced and the kerbs raised to the new level.
