AUGUST VALUE OF £17,414 CONTRACT FOR OIL TANKS Building permits land City Council in August cover work valued at £17,414, tho second largest monthly total since the beginning of the year. The July figure of £77,531 was accounted for by tho contract for large extensions to the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company's cool store at King s Wharf. The largest contract in August was for oil tanks in Beaumont Street, Freeman's Bay, for the Associated Motorists' Petrol -Company. Permits for four new dwellings were granted, making the year s total to •date 39, compared with 61 and 153 in the corresponding periods of 1931 and 1930 respectively.
