The aid of riderless horses, a woman a glass eye, and even children has been invoked by smugglers to outwit patrols/on the German-Belgian frontier. Extensive smuggling has developed as a result of the high import duties.' The Brussels correspondent of the Daily Mail nays that, in spite of attempts to suppress the illicit trade by the reinforcement of frontier ''posts with cyclist patrols, tho officials are still being evaded.
Riderless horses are being loaded with contraband, and then struck with sticks to make them gallop across the frontier, where confederates catch them.
A 6mart woman contrived an ingenious receptacle for diamonds behind her glass eye. Children are taught to crawl across the frontier with contraband,-
