CHICAGO PACKING PLANT ANIMALS BURNED TO DEATH CHICAGO, Aug. 4 Fire to-day swept through more than two blocks of buildings near the soulhwest side of Chicago, which embraces an industrial area. The damage is estimated at more than £1.200.000. The Omaha Packing Company b plant was virtually destroyed, entailing a loss of £1,000,000. Two firemen and a spectator were injured. Three thousand hogs, 800 cattle and 700 sheep were burned to death.
