COLLAPSE AT WHEEL
DRIVER FOUND UNCONSCIOUS DEATH FOLLOWS IN HOSPITAL [by TELEGRAPH—OWN correspondent] IIOTORUA, Friday The death occurred to-day of Mr. W. Perry in the King Georgo V. Hospital under unusual circumstances. Mr. Perry was employed as a grocer's assistant and left the premises of his employer, Mr. T. Ewart, with a delivery van for Ngakuru on Tuesday soon after 8 a.m. As Jie did not return in the afternoon as expected, his employer became anxious and went in search of him. Mr. Ewart found Mr. Pefry at 9 p.m. in the van on a cross-road leading to Guthrie, which is 15 miles from Rotorua. Tho van was in the centre of tho road, with tho driver at tho wheel in an unconscious condition. As far as could be ascertained, ho had been there for about six hours. It is evident that when Mr. Perry lost consciousness his foot came ofi the accelerator and the van came to a standstill. Mr. Ewart conveyed the unfortunate man to the King Georgo Hospital, but Mr. Perry died this morning without regaining consciousness. He had appeared to be in his usual state of health when he left the premises of his employer.
