PEOPLE OF THE BOOK

A little-known phase of Britain's activities over t lie seas is illuminated by a series of sketches by Major A. ,T. Pott, who spent the greater part of the war period in the Sudan. Previously published in a number of the reviews, the sketches have been collated in one volume, under the title of '' People of the Bool:." Everyone is interesting, not only as a, story, but also in its revelations of the life and habits of the Soudanese and the manner in which British officers, civil and military, preserve the peace. They are a great crowd, these men, no matter where they be; no seekers of limelight, but content to do the job because it is the job, and they do it well. " People of the Book," by Major A. J. Pott.
