THE TRIMMED HAT
EMPHASISED FAVOURITES LEADING COLOURS The following cablegram was received in Auckland from London this week:— Latest fashion news culled from principal leading centres shows the definite return of the specialised hat. All discerning women favour headwear made of fine quality straws for early spring, and particularly pedal pedalines, fine racellos in shiny effects finely machined and modelled in the correct boater, and other styles, showing brims with front tilts and back lifts, and the popular side bandeaux effects. Trimmings are emphasised, favourites being natty fruit and flower mounts, smart small feather pieces, cire and Petersham ribbons, finished with chic nickel and chromium buckles and other novelty ornaments mostly in contrasting tones to the material of the hat. The leading colours in order of popularity are black, chocolate brown, navy, red, greens and blues. Indications point to a splendid season brought about by the popular demand for a distinct type of more smartly trimmed styles.
