NATURE STUDIES

DRAWING ROOM LILY PONDS Nature studies are the latest floral schemes for Mayfair. In some of the smartest drawing rooms will be found a pond study in flat bowl consisting of one white lily surrounded by two leaves, just as they grow, instead of several flowers massed together.^ Tho nature study craze has increased the demand for foliage and wild things to such an extent that that old friend of the meadows, quaker grass, is being specially cultivated. The now fresh green oak and beech leaves are most popular, because jaded London hostesses, longing for their country homes, "like to see them grow." Leaves are still the most fashionable decoration for tho hall.
