TWO CRAZES
There are two crazes in London now. One is to draw 011 paper a box with a cross in (lie centre, not by looking at your paper, but by looking in a mirror held facing you. Someone must cover your band so that you cannot see what you are drawing on the paper but only in tbe mirror. The second fad is a curious one. All sorts of people are buying " jumping boans." These are the l'ruit of a tree which is only found in a certain district in Mexico. Each fruit looks like a triangular bean and contains a " jumper." This is a small larva with sixteen feet, which makes tbe bean move about by itself, giving a funny little click as it turns or jumps. The beans become more lively when placed in the sun. They will live in the shell, without food, for about a year, as long as they are kept from cold or frost.
