BRIDE'S LONG JOURNEY

5000 MILES TO BE MARRIED Having travelled 5000 miles for a wedding in her father's church, Miss Marjorie Atkinson, daughter of the Rev. George Atkinson, rector of Farnloy, Leeds, was married at Leeds on June 18 to Mr. Haroid Whitehead, a Manchester man. Miss Atkinson met Mr. Whitehead in the Uganda village of Ng'Ora, where she was attached to the Church Missionary Society, and for two years worked among lepers in that area. Mr. Whitehead is employed by a cotton firm. It is the intention of the couple to return to Uganda in September. The ceremony was conducted by the bride's father and lier uncle. Rev. Douglas Morton.
