DOCTOR'S 6820 BABIES
Dr. John Henry Salter ,of Tolleshunt D'Arcy, Essex, said to have been the old est practising medical officer in England, and to have brought 6820 children into the world—he died on April 17, aged 90 —left £24.785. He bequeathed 80 volumes, of diaries —one for each year—with his memoirs to John Ockelford Thompson, for publication, and £SOO was contributed toward the cost. The doctor gave £3500, a cottage arid furniture to Jessie Bacon and £IOOO and a cottage to bis gardener, William Bullard,
