OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP The Auckland open billiards championship was advanced a further stage last evening, when H. A. Massey defeated C. Lester nfter a fast and interesting game. Tho winner gave a splendid exhibition of all-rour.d billiards. His best breaks were 68i 41, 37, 34, 33. Tho tournament will be continued this evening, when A. Satchell wil! •meet P. Murphy. The draw for to-morrow is P. Havico arid F, Brown.
