PRIVATE HOTEL WORKERS
DOMINION DISPUTE ADJOURNMENT OF HEARING [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday After discussion to-day in tho Dominion private hotel workers' dispute in the conciliation council, the employers' assessors stated that owing to practically no change being made from the award in tho workers' amended proposals, they considered it useless to adjourn. The motion to refer tho dispute to the Arbitration Court was lost, each side solidly voting against the other. Finally, on the casting voto of the conciliation commissioner, it was decided to adjourn proceedings until August 16, largely on account of the suggestion that failure in tho private hotels case would prejudice any possible agreement in the licensed hotels case, set down for bearing to-morrow.
