The petitioners state that many of the pensioners will find themselves in a serious position if their pensions cease, as tlicy are not eligible for the old-age or widows' pensions, and arc physically un. able to earn a livelihood. Meantime, & is asked that the Government authorise the continuance of the pensions until such a course is validated by Parliament in accordance with Mr. Coatcs* promise.
