Parliament by the Mayor of Waihi, tho president of the Miners' Unior, and the chairman of tho Hospital Board, urging the restoration of pensions to miners', widows. The pensions are to cease in Sep. tcmbcr unless the promise of tho Rt. Hon J. G. Coatcs to review the positiou is carried out. The petitioners state that many of the pensioners will find themselves in a serious position if their pensions cease, as tlicy are not eligible for the old-age or widows' pensions, and arc physically un. able to earn a livelihood. Meantime, & is asked that the Government authorise the continuance of the pensions until such a course is validated by Parliament in accordance with Mr. Coatcs* promise.
