CONCERT PARTY

A departure from tho ordinary run of concert programmes was provided on Tuesday evening by tho introduction of purely physical items at an entertainment given by a concert party arranged by tho Optimists Club of the Y.M.C.A. to tho Haeremai Club of tho Y.W.C.A. Tho physical items introduced were somo very clover chair-balancing and tumbling by Messrs. N. Middleton and C. Curtis, while the bedroom exercises demonstrated by Mr. J. Elliot, showed tho extraordinary degrea of suppleness that comes from consistent exercise. An exhibition and demonstration of wrestling holds by Messrs. K. Kenneth and 11. C. Sidford, completed tho physical sido of the entertainment. Mr. Edward Axford mystified his audience with illusions and magic. Other items were elocutionary numbers by Miss Joan Craig, instrumental quartette, Mrs. A. Ait ken, Miss Waterworth and Messrs. J. Gill and J. McComish; vocal items, Mr. J. B. McComish, and part songs by the Optimists' glee party, led by Mr. R. H. Horsley. Mr. Ivan Lambert was accompanist.
