FAILURE TO ACCOUNT
FORMER SALESMAN IN COURT TERM OF IMPRISONMENT [by telegraph-—press .association] WELLINGTON, Wednesday A blacksmith, Allan William Wishart, aged 47, was sentenced by Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Police Court to-day, to three months' imprisonment on three charges of false pretences, and three charges of failing to account for money. The police stated that in November last, the accused obtained employment selling shares on commission for the Stewart Island Fresh Oyster Company, Limited. During January he received amounts of £lO, £3 and £2 as application money on the salo of shares, but did not remit the money to his principals. He was dismissed in January because of liis drinking habits, but in February, representing that ho was still employed by the company, he received three sums of £1 as application money for shares.
