INTER-ISLAND RUGBY GAME NOT RETURNED TO PAVILION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH,. Wednesday Three new footballs used in the North v. South Island Rugby match were not returned to the Lancaster Park pavilion, according to a statement by Mr. J. K. Moloney at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union. He said threo balls had been lost and he thought, that tho North Island players had them. Mr. Moloney's remarks were made on the reception of a letter from the New Zealand Rugby Union, asking for tho gross gate takings of the match, and stating that the charge for new footballs was excessive, as they were still in Christchurch.
