ANNIVERSARY OF OPENING The buildings of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, in Parnell, were officially, opened 40 years ago to day. Bishop Cowis presided over a largo gathering, which included Canon Mac Murray, Babbi Goldstein and Mr. W. Crowther, then Mayor of Auckland. , The origin of the institute was mainly to the generosity of Mr. J" * Abbott and to the work of the secretary. Mr. J. Thornes. The expenditure on tna buildings and Jand was £3OOO, and was spent on furnishings.
