SHIPPING AT AUCKLAND
INCREASE IN TONNAGE An increase in the tonnage of shipping at Auckland during July, compared with July last year, was reported to tho Auckland Harbour Board yesterday by the harbourmaster, Captain.H. 11. Sergeant. Tho harbourmaster said 445 vessels of a gross tonnago of 365,367, and a net tonnage of 220,349 arrived, the departures being 425 vessels of 348,847 gross tons and 207,113 net tons. Comparod with tho figures for July, 1931, the returns for overseas merchant shipping showed tho same number of vessels with an increase in tho tonnage of 26,514 sross tons and 18,587 net tons. Intercolonial shipping showed a decroaso of six vessels, and largo coastal ves6ols increased by six. Vossels arriving in tho Manukau Harbour numbered 22 with a tonnage of 6465 gross tons and 3212 neb tons, an increase of two vessels as compared with tho corresponding period last, year.
