SHORT SHRIFT IN PERU MEN FIRST DIG OWN CRAVES LIMA, Aug. l. The. Peruvian Government announced to-day that 44 men were executed last Wednesday at Trujillo for participating in the revolt there early in July. The men, who had been convicted by court-martial, were taken out, lined up beside trenches which they had dug and then shot. Altogether 101 men were condemned to death, but 57 have not yet been taken into custody.
