BENEFIT ENTERTAINMENT
A mvstery drama, "El Bcsn. do la Mucrtc'," by J. A. Eraser, was performed by Senor Carlo's Spanish-American players in the Lewis Eady Hall last evening. Produced by Senor Carle, the play deals with the unmasking of an unscrupulous fnurderer by the wife of his victim, who herself had narrowly escaped being convicted of the crime. The cast included Nola Casellh as a French nurse; Phyllis Park, as a Creole; Egbert Watson, as a negro servant.; Ernest I'ooley, as a young doctor; and Senor Carle, as a half-breed Spaniard. Tho programme also included a shorter play, "Doomed at Dawn," in which Phyllis Park, Egbert Watson and Senor Carle appeared. Vocal and instrumental items were interspersed, and incidental music was played by an orchestra under Mr. John Ewart. The proceeds were in aid of the Auckland Discharged Prisoners' Aid Society. The performance will be repeated this evening.
