CONTINUATION OF CONTEST The Auckland open billiards championship was advanced another stage last evening, many spectators being present. The standard of play, however, was not up to championship form. H. V. Long gained a substantial lead over his opponent, D. Porter, the respective breaks of the competitors being:—24, 23, 37, 35 and 26, 27, £3, 35. This evening G. Adams and Qc Bashara will meet, and. on Thursday evening H. A. Massey is drawn to play J. E. Lester.
