SCHOLAR ASHAMED TAKES TO BURGLARY LONDON, July 15 Because Isak Schwartz, aged 20, a Bulgarian employed as a tailor's cutter, was ashamed of his crooked nose lie became a burglar. lie was a brilliant scholar, according to evidence at the Southden Quarter Sessions. Schwartz pleaded guilty to housebreaking and burglary. It was stated that accused would not emerge in the street in daylight, and spent much of his time attempting to straighten his nose. A prison doctor said Schwartz was sensitive and imagined people were staring at him. After his counsel had said that Schwartz had commenced ecclosiastical work, but suddenly began housebreaking, tbo recorder bound accused over for medical treatment.
