OLD ENGLISH COINS
The reference in lust Tuesday's Herald a Georgo llt. spado guinea in tho possession of a Claudelands resident, has led other Hamilton residents to produce other old English coins of interest. Mr. F. Lamprell, of East Street, Claudelands, has a George 111. spado half-guinea, dated 1787, which was placed in his hands by his grandmother when he was an hour old. Mr. H. G. Peppercorn, of Frankton, has in his possession a set of small coins, including a farthing, a half-farthing, "dated nnd a one-third farthing, r'ated 1881. fHo has also a silver penny dated 1j .. and a silver com valned fit lid, d'lt.cd 1840. Mr. Peppercorn says he found tho one-third-farthing in Green l!ane, Auckland, in 1913.
