Havering scored an easy victory in the P.osehill Handicap, his winning margin being three lengths. Tins was his first win on his present trip to Australia and was also his first success since he won the President's Handicap at tho Te Kuiti Racing Club's meeting at To Awamutu in Jlav of last year. The Magpie filly Gold Mag, owned and trained by Mr. J. Hennah, of Hastings, scored a spectacular win in tho Maiden Thieo-year-old Handicap. This was Gold Mail's first start in Sydney and she won nicely by a length. Tho New Zealander Roy Reed rode her. Oratorjan ran third to Holdfast and Erbie ir;/ tho Flying Handicap. King Starch finished fifth in Havering's race. Mungatoon was unplaced in the' Nursery Handicap, arid White Wings was unplaced in tho Carlingford Mile.
