" SHOE KING'S " FATE CLIMAX TO A NOVEL / LONDON. July 15 Tho testimony of two surgeons that both/ deaths were duo to fractured spines has refuted rumours in Vienna that Pilot . Broncek, who lost his lif© with Mr. Thomas Bata, the " Shoe King," in an aeroplane crash, bore a bullet wound, •Elates the Vienna correspondent of tho Daily Mail. Mr. Bata's lawyers recently caused the •uppression of a Gorman novel, " Danta the/ Giant," which was said to havo been based on Mr. Bata's life, and which ended with Danta's death in an aeroplano crash -while he-was cruising above nis own immense factories. Mr. Bata's funeral was attended by jv,ooo persons.
