DEATH FROM DOG BITE

MAN WHO TRIED TO STOP FIGHT A verdict of " death from septicaemia caused by infection from a dog bite" was recorded on June 11 on the Archdeacon of Cheltenham, the Ven. Alan Whitmoro Cornwall, who died at "Stratton, near Cirencester, aged 73. ' ' Evidence was given that tho Archdeacon went to the village post office, taking his terrier, which lie left outside. Mis. Broome Hiscock had also taken a dog with her to the post office, and the two dogs began to fight. The Archdeacon went out and caught his terrier by the collar, but the dog turned on lnm and bit his hand. The postmistress washed the wound and sent for a doctor. The hand was treated with antiseptic and the wourtd progressed well until June 2. Tho next day, however, the Archdeacon became suddenly., ill, and ho died on June 9.
