CHARGES OF FORGERY
ORDER FORMS ALTERED SALESMAN FOUND GUILTY Evidence for < 110 defeixe. the trial of Joseph Keith Orr, aged 28. salesman, ori charges of forging two order forms and v.-itli causing them to l>e acted upon ns if they were genuine, was heard in Hie Supreme Court yesterday before Mr. Justire Smith. The Crown alleged that accused entered in/o an arrangement with Northern Auto'nobiles, Limited; for the sale of motor-car head-light- reflectors. Later he approached the Electric Construction Company, •Limited, with a request, that it. should over the agency. If was alleged that he then altered the dates on two order Hips, inserting the words Klectiic Con ruction" to make it appear that the orders had lieen booked for that company, duplicate copies of the slips showed that they had been made out for Northern Automobiles. Limited. Counsel lou the defence claimed that the orders were solely the property of iii.nisfid and il was immaterial what hp din with them. His action did not constitute a forgery. In evidence accused said he had I filtered the order forms, believing that lie *vas quite entitled to do so. Accused was found guilty on the charges v-of forgery, the jury adding a recommendation to leniency. He waa remanded for •entence.
