MINIMUM SURVEY FEE

A minimnm snrvey fee of £5 in connection with (he settlement of land in kauri gum districts was stated yesterday by the Commissioner of Crown Lands for tho North Auckland land district, Mr. 0. N. Campbell/ to be tho usual amount which was charged in practically eveiy case. Tho question had been raised that a paragraph ■ which appeared in tho Crown Land Guide stated that if the application was approved by tho Land Board and the Minister, the survey was carried out by tho Crown, free of cost to the selector. Mr. (Campbell stated that in tho revison of tho guide this paragraph must have been overlooked, but it had been revoked soma time ago.
