• A debate in the Athenaeum Cup contest on the question " Whether Civil Servants Should be Granted Full Political Rights," between the Auckland Training College and the Y.M.C.A.,1 was won by the former team, takine tire affirmative, by 184 points to 181. This vinninp comprised Messrs. B. M. Wakeland and C. T. Brooking and Miss J. Mavs. The Y M.C.A. team consisted of Messrs. C. Jull, J. C. Herbert and F. Bruno. The judge was Mr. Oscar Mcßrine.
