CAR AND CART COLLIDE.
CHINESE GARDENER INJURED.
THROWN HEAVILY TO ROAD.
A collision between a taxi-cab and a cart occurred on Manukau Road, Epsom, at about 6 a.m. yesterday. The driver of the cart, a Chinese market gardener, Mr. Wong Oy, aged 63, of Neilson Street, To Papapa, was thrown heavily on to the roadway and received concussion. Ho was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. His condition fast evening vas described as satisfactory. The accident took place near the intersection of Queen Mary's Avenue. Both vehicles, which were fairly extensively damaged, were travelling in the direction of Newmarket, the car striking the cart in the rear. The driver of the car, Mr. H. Mephan, of Mount Eden, was not injured. A broken shaft on the cart permitted the horse to bolt, but it was recaptured without difficulty. It was not hurt.
