AID FOR CITY MISSION.
DONATION BY POWER BOARD.
An appeal for assistance toward the work of the Auckland City Mission was received by the Auckland Electric-Power Board at a meeting yesterday from tha missioner, the Rev. Jasper Calder, who stated that, while the number of dependants had increased during the period of depression, many former subscribers had been unable to give cash and had offered their services. Men's and women's guilds had been formed, but they required materials. He asked the board to give an order on a city firm for materials such as cloth. The chairman, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, said that he had met Mr. Calder and had informed him that the board could not make a donation of money. On the motion of Mr. E. H. Potter it was decided to donate £lO worth of goods.
