THE WRITERS' CLUB.
An afternoon of special interest was the weekly meeting of the Writers' Club, held on Friday, wher. Mrs. S. O. English delighted a large gathering of members and friends with a talk on the Passon Play at Oberammeignu. The speaker prefaced, her remarks with a description of a tour through the States of America, Canada, the British Isles and across the Channel to the war z:ne, where the soldiers' cemeteries were visited. From there she went to the picturesque German village of Oberamme;-gau, where the greatest, drama of the world was played by simple-minded and reverent people. lhe speaker gave a vivid description of the grput theatre, which is open to the sky, and of the play. Mrs. I. M Clue!t, president, thanked Mrs. English for hrr moving address, and on behalf of tie members presented her with a bouquet. Among the gtiests were, Mrs. A. Adams, Mrs. W. Mannings, Mrs J. Hutchison and Miss Matthewr.
