CHEAPER TELEPHONES.
The quarterly charge in Britain of £1 12s 6d for a home telephone is a lot to the family man; it means he must make 30 calls a week before he is down to the telephone box charge of twopence a call. "If we are to make the telephone really cheap and universal it must be done through tho home phone as well as over foreign lines," says the London Star.
