FAILURE OF CONTRACTS. [FKO3C OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.'] HAMILTON, Thursday. A deficiency of £374 was shown in the schedule of Arthur Clarence Noble, motordriver, (if Hamilton. A meeting of creditors wa;j to have been held before the official assignee, Mr. V. R. Crowhurst, in Ham 1 ton to-day, but lapsed for want of a quorum.

The amount owing to unsecured creditors was shown s as £269, and that to socured creditors as £250, the value of securities being £145. > — There were no assets.

In a statement, bankrupt said lio was doing quite well with a contract carrying benzine from. Frankton to places within a radius of 50 miles up to November, 1928- At this date His truck was damaged by tiro and while repairs were being made, it was seized by the vendors, owing to his inability to meet a payment by promissory note unclej? a hire purchase agreement. He later entered into a hirepurchase agreement with a company to purchase a second-hand truck, with a view to carrying on a metal contract. This contract lasted only two months, and proved unsuccessful, as a result of which the truck was seized. Since November, 1928, he had worked only intermittently, and during the past 12 months his Minings had not averaged more than £2 a week.
