ENGLISH CRICKETERS.

VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND.

M.C.C. TEAM NEXT SEASON.

ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED

MATCHES IN THREE CITIES.

[BY TELEGRAPn.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday.

Arrangements have been completed whereby tho M.C.C. team which is to tour Australia next season will visit New Zealand on its return voyage to England. The suggested itinerary which is being considered by the managera -:nt committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council provides for matches in Wellington, Ohristchurch and Auckland, one match in each centre. Two of the matches will probably be against New Zealand. The team will leave Sydney for New Zealand on March 16 and leave Auckland for England on April 5. The Marylebone Club will be guaz-anteed the expenses of tho tour, and after these expenses have been paid any surplus will be divided equally between the M.C.C. and the New Zealand Cricket Council.

The New Zealand tour will cause the team to arrive in England late for the county cricket matches, and the consent of the counties had to be obtained to the absence of leading players. Every county interested agreed to the extension of the tour.

TEAM FROM INDIA.

PROPOSAL FOR TOUR

MAHARAJA'S PRIVATE SIDE

[nY TELEGRAPH. —I'RESS ASSOCIATION.]

CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday

A tour of New Zealand by an Indian cricket team under the charge of tho Maharaja of Patiala is possible during tho 1933-154 season. Tho Maharaja of Patiala is vice-patron of the Board of Control for cricket in India.

Information concerning the suggested tour canio before a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council this evening in tho form of two letters from F. A. Tarrant, now coach to the Indian team playing in England. The proposal made on behalf of the Maharaja is that he bring his private cricket team to New Zealand in 1933. arriving in the Dominion in December, to play eight to twelve matches. His Highness wants no guarantee, but suggests the sanio division of gate money as other touring sides receive. Tho team would include Duleepsinhji, tho Nawab of Pataudi and the pick of the Indian team touring England this year. It would also play tho usual matches in Australia. It would be a really good side, composed entirely of amateurs, with the addition of L. X. Constantino, the West Indies player. The reply of the Cricket Council, it was reported, had been that such a team would be very welcome, but the invitation would depend on the result of negotiations already in train for the visit of another side to New Zealand the same season. If that did not eventuate the New Zealand Council would bo glad to invite the Maharaja's team.
