SIMPLICITY AND TRUTH. I here was a large attendance at a luncheon held yesterday under the auspices of tho advertising group of the Chamber of Commerce and the junior body of the chamber.

In an address on " How to Make Advertising Pay," Mr. C. E. Clinkard slated that advertising should bo simple, straightforward and honest. Over-state-ment should have no place in advertising and the truth should be aimed at always. Mr. Clinkard stressed the need for wellorganised tests lo ascertain the public taste before embarking upon an advertising campaign. He said such tests often showed a surprising result.
