TRANSFER OF T. HALL. REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS. ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY. The application of T. Hall for permission to play for tho Newton Club raised an interesting point at last night s meeting of the Auckland Rugby League, Hall recently returned from England i.fter a two years engagement with the St. Helen's Club. Mr. R. Doble said this was the first caso which had como up since tho agreement between Australia, New Zealand and England that a club losing the services of a player under agreement to all overseas club should 1)0 paid i'2oo compensation. The New Zealand Council had received communication on tho subject from England, said Mr. Doble, who expressed the opinion that tho Newton Club was liable for payment, seeing that Hall was to play again in New Zealand. • , • The chairman, Mr. G. Rhodes, said it was a delicate point, and on his motion the application was referred to tho New Zealand Council. . The registration of six Ellerslio players for other clubs was held up owing to the players being unfuiancial. Jt was pointed out that a claim last season for insurance showed that at least one player had paid all fees owing. Mr. Rhodes said the onus was on the clubs concerned, which were now held responsible for the clearances being in older. It was decided to allow the players permission to play provided their clearance was granted by tiie Ellerslie Club. The reinstatement of 11. Crook was approved. it was decided to issue passes to patients from the Military Annexe to attend club mutches at Carlaw Park. A request from junior clubs for further ground concession at Carlaw Park was deferred for one week. The following applications for transfers were approved:—G. C'alder, Ellerslio to Richmond; J. S. Herring and R. Herring, Marist to City; A. Crouch. City to Marist. Mr. J. Eddows spoke in support of playing all threo senior matches at Carlaw Park next Saturday.
