CLOTHING FOR CAMP WORKERS.

Sir,—ln reply to the appeals which have 'appeared in your columns for clothing for the men in the relief camps, I wish to state that if old clothes (clean) are sent to our rooms, in the Pacific Buildings, Welleslcy Street East, the sewing committee of the Victoria League will do their best to repair them. We already make clothing for the women and children in tho country, and I am suro 1 can promise for the committee that we shall be ready to help with clothes for the men. E. M. Macfahlane. Convener of the sewing committee, Victoria League.

Sir,—ln view of tho urgent need of warm' clothing for our men who are working in various camps, may I suggest a, way which may help to provide some, if not all, of the necessary clothes. It is this, Let women make work centres iu their various districts and collect and mend clothes for tho men. Lot. each centre work for a special camp. To do this permission might have to be obtained fioni tho Unemployment Board, but I feel sure any help would be welcomed. New Zealand women have never failed to respond to the call of the needy and surely tho need is very great at the present time. Tim men's part will he to give away a pair of socks, a loved cardigan (they do so iovo their old garments!), a singlet or any warm garment. I feel sure that the response would he great, for men always give most generously. I hose who cannot sew or knit might collect, give a few skeins of wool, yards of flannel for vests, or a shilling or two. Many people will say they cannot give anything. Sad to say, that is true, hut. there are also many who can help a little, and if everyone does what one can the men will be well provided for during the coining winter. -A. C. Wilson. Long Drive, St. Ileliers Bay.
