LONG COURT CASE.
CONTRACT FOR SHINGLE. HEARING OCCUPIES NINE DAYS. Having established a record of length for a civil case that is likely to stand fcr some time, the action over an agreement for taking shingle from the lakatu Beach came to a close before Mr. Justice Smith in t'.io Supreme Court yesterday afternoon. The case lasted for nine davs and extended into the third week. The plaintiff was William Julius Hyde, of Takatu, who claimed from J. J. Craig, Limited, Winstone, Limited, Alfred W. Bryant. Willian and Archibald McCalluni £670, which he alleged was duo to him under an agreement with them for the purchase of shingle from the Takatu Beach. Counsel for the defence concluded his address, which was commenced last Thursday, yesterday morning, and counsel for plaintiff completed Ins reply in the afternoon. In announcing that lie would resoive his decision. His Honor remarked that counsel had certainly been at great pains to assist liim in the matter and he had appreciated it.
