CONDITIONS IN SYDNEY.

MANY CASES OF SICKNESS. MESSAGE I.EADS TO RUMOURS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —TRESS ASSOCIATION.] "WELLINGTON, Tuesday. For some days there have been rumours in Wellington of serious trouble in Sydney and of many people being hurt in the streets. It is slated by Mr. Stilling, representative in New Zealand of the Australian Travel Association, that they are without foundation. Mr. Stilling thinks the rumours may have arisen from a wireless message which was received to the effect that hospitals were filled to overflowing, but the message should have continued that this was owing to the abnormal number of cases of sickness, due, no doubt, to privations suffered on account of unemployment, so that some hospitals have had to refuse admission even to serious cases.
