The Women's Progress Club (Inc.) met on Wednesday afternoon at tie Higher Thought Temple, Wellington S.reet. A very interesting talk on "Nature Cure Principles Applied," was given by Air. Gould. The lecturer urged his listeners to live more simply and shoved how many native races lived much loiger and were far healthier than many :ivilised people. An interesting discussion followed, many questions being askec. The Temple Quartette rendered several musical items and tea was served at tin close o£ the meeting.

At a meeting of the Citizens' "Cnemployment Committee, held in Wellington last week, Air. J. I. Goldsmith, chairman of the committee, expressed tho opnion that the young men who were bung asked to go into camps for single nen should be given <•. pair of boots, two pairs of socks, a pair of trousers and a shirt. The membjrs of the Lyceum (Women's) Club had, ho said, already started knitting socks for relief workers, a movement which lie hoped would spread among the women of Wellington, as the need was a vcrv real one.

The annual meetiig of the St. Stephen's Ladies' Guild was 1:eld in the Parish Hall, Opotiki, on Thursday afternoon, the Rev. N. F. Benhain presiding.
