SUPPLY OF POWER.
OUTPUT FROM ARAPUNI. POSITION AT KING'S WHARF. In completion of its contract with Glen Afton Collieries, Limited, for the supply of coal for the King's Wharf power station, the Auckland Electric-Power Board has sufficient fuel on hand for the next five or six weeks under present conditions. -- Mr. R. H. Bartley, general manager of the board, said yesterday that- the Arapuni and Horahora stations were supplying about 20,000 kilowatts, while the King's Wharf station was responsible for about 6000 or 7000 kilowatts to make up the deficiency. This arrangement would be continued until Arapuni was capable of taking over the whole of the supply, in about a month's time. Accord-, ing to the supply from Arapuni and the demand for power, the King's Wharf station could increase or decrease its output. Later, it would become a purely stand-by plant.
