ABANDONED TOURNEY.
MONEY FOR THE POOR. "It has been usual," says the annual report of th.> Wellington Teachers' Training College, "for the students to organise an annual tournament with Auckland at th.j end of the second terin. This year, at the instigation of Wellington, on accomt of the financial stringency, the tournanent was abandoned. The money in hand for the purpose was donated to providing relief for necessitous children in the city. The students not only gave money, but also made garments out of raw material and distributed these by means of personal investigation and through recognised relief agencies.'i
