The President of the Board of Trade, Mr. Walter Runciman, in an interview with representatives of the Miners' Federation, urged a resumption of negotiations with the owners on the hours question. This is governed by an Act which will expiro on July 8. Subsequently Mr. Runciman met the Mining Association, the owners' organisation.
