OMISSION OF SAVIDAN. AUCKLAND CENTRE'S PROTEST. With regard to the omission of .T. W. Savidnn from the New Zealand team for (lie Olympic Games, the following resolution was carried at- a meeting of the Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association :—This centre expresses strongest disapproval of the action of tlin New Zealand Council in disregarding the recommendations of its duly appointed selectors, and, further, emphatically endorses the recommendation of (ho selectors that, Savidan should he the first selection for (he New Zealand Olympic athletic team. MISS KENCH'S SELECTION. CRITICISM FROM CANTERBURY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.'] CHRISTCHHRCH, Friday. A motion that Miss Kcnch should not be sent to tlio Olympic Games to take part in women's athletic events was carried at, a. meeting of the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The Otago protest against what was stated to he the overriding of Messrs. P. W. Breen (Dunedin) and T. E. Henry (Auckland), the athletic selectors for the Olympic Games team, was supported by tlio committee, which also decided to nominate Mr. 0. If. Taylor as manager of the New Zealand team for the Games.
