BISHOP'S DISAPPROVAL.
VICAR'S MISSION IN CHAPEL. The Bishop of Durham, Dr. llenson, in his presidential address nt. the Durham Diocesan Conference) lately, referred to the receipt of a complaint by the Thornlcy Parochial Council that while confirmation classes were being held Mr. Jardine, the Vicar of St. Paul's, Darlington, was c< iducting a mission in the Weslevan Cl.npel opposite to tho Parish Church. The l'arot iiial Council, the secretary added, pointed out that the Chinch of England paid Mr. Jardine a large stipend, and if he did his work and thus earned his -Upend he had no time to spare conelm ting missions among people who were 0[ posed to tho Church of England. " Fro 11 all schism, good Lord, deliver us " was still Ihe prayer ordered in the Chun h of England, and the Vicar of St. Paul' .. Darlington, was constantly guilty of th ise sins of schism. On behalf of the bishop, his chaplain replied ex pi ?ssing disapprobation of Mr. Jardine's co lduct.
