PURIRI MOTH FOUND.

A largo and beautiful moth found on a recent evening in the main street of Pukekohe was forwarded to the curator of tiio Auckland Museum, Mr. Gilbert Are hey. The body was about in length and each wing had a spread of about 2in. The moth was a delicate green in colour. Mr. Archey lias now advised that it was a puriri moth, a native of New Zealand, which (lies only at night, and is therefore not often seen. In the larvae stage it bores into treos, with preference for the puiiri.
